In the early 90s Gianni Versace looked for a partner to start a housewares collection with. Versace’s idea was that its brand represented a style of life that could encompass more than fashion alone. Versace found a partner in Rosenthal that shared its high standards. Together they decided to produce several lines of fine, luxurious dinnerware. The cooperation was an enormous success. Together the brands produced many lines of opulent and luxurious dinnerware, glass and gift collections. The design language is based on motifs derived from classical antiquity and the baroque period. Gianni’s sister, Donatella is responsible for more recent designs.
