Zwiebelmuster or onion pattern is without doubt the most produced and most copied dinnerware design ever made.
It stems from an 17th century Chinese design featuring flowers and plums, but was appropriated by Meissen in the 18th century into the onion pattern.
At some point every major German porcelain factory produced a version of the pattern, Hutschenreuther is no exception.
Hutschenreuther’s Zwiebelmuster distinguishes itself with it’s crisp lines and deep cobalt blue printed decoration.
