About Villeroy & Boch – Vieux Luxembourg – Coffee Pot
Vieux Luxembourg is one of the world’s oldest crockery designs.
The design with the simple blue flowers on a white background is also known as Brindille. Although it was made by nearly all regional factories at some point the design was actually made by Pierre-Joseph Boch, the son of founder François Boch in 1770.
It’s ongoing popularity makes it not only a pleasant decor on our dinnerware but also an important part of our visual history.
The Brindille that was made more recently by Villeroy & Boch goes by the name Vieux Luxembourg. This refers to the factory in Septfontaines, Luxembourg where Brindille was first produced.
Vieux Luxembourg is made of high quality white porcelain. This makes it suitable for everyday use. The timeless beauty of the blue and white decor also makes it very suitable for a formal dinner table.
