About Recamier – Royal Creamware – Gravy Boat
Royal Creamware was a dinnerware brand based in Longton, England, founded in 1760.
They produced cream coloured earthenware called Creamware.
They have a very long history, the series Recamier is one of their last successes. It was produced until the demise of the company in the early 2000s.
Recamier is most likely named after the famous Mme. Récamier. She was a contemporary and a critic of Napoleon. She was also known to have one of the most modern houses of the day, furnished completely in the neo-classical fashion.
As the styling of Recamier is inspired by Neo Classical design the name is very fitting.
