An Antique Meissen Decorative Bowl.
The stunning and rare serving bowl was made by Meissen and made in the second half of the 19th century.
The bowl features Meissen’s crossed swords mark with a single incision. Single incisions were used to indicate that the item was sold white and glazed to get an overglaze decoration elsewhere. Decoration usually happened at specialised studios in Dresden.
The bowl was decorated with a nicely detailed decor of birds, insects and floral guirlandes.
The width of the item is 24cm and the height is 5cm.
The item is in a very good condition. It has wear on the gilding. The bottom rim was chipped in the production process as the chip sits under the glaze.
