About Aynsley – A2/20 – Antique Coffee Cup

Aynsley was founded by John Aynsley in Staffordshire. It built a reputation for being one of the best brands for fine bone china in the UK.

in 1861 John Aynsley, the grandson of the founder moved the production from to a new factory called Portland Works in Longton, Staffordshire.

In the 1970s the company was purchased by Waterford (Wedgwood), who sold it to Belleek in 1997. Production stayed in the Longton factory until 2014 but moved to Belleek’s factory in Northern Ireland afterwards.

Aynsley has loyal fans in the British royal family. Both Queen Elizabeth II and Diana, Princess of Wales received Aynsley dinnerware as wedding presents.

The pattern numbered A2/20 is an antique Aynsley pattern featuring a band of flowers and meandered rims. It is made of very fine bone china.
